SUNFLOWER GRANOLA

Ingredients
8 cups rolled oats (not the instant kind)
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 cuts natural wheat germ
3/4 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
1/2 cup sunflower oil
3/4 cup molasses
2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 cup coconut, flaked
2 cups dried cranberries
1/4 dried pineapple, chopped
1/4 dried banana, chopped

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees

In a large bowl, stir together oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, and sunflower seeds. In a small saucepan, heat oil, molasses, and almond extract over medium-high heat.

Stir constantly, and heat until bubbly. Pour liquid mixture over oats mixture and stir until mixed thoroughly.

Spread granola mixture into 11 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes, stirring twice. Remove from oven and cool.

Once the mixture cools completely, sprinkle with flaked coconut and dried fruit.
