If you’ve been working out for a while, you’re probably noticing how much stronger and fitter you feel. And you may also feel ready to make your workouts a little harder. One way to do that is to bump up the number of reps you do. If you normally do 10 to 12 reps, add just 1. If it feels like you’re straining to keep proper form or feel greatly fatigued each time you perform more reps, you may not be ready and may need to stick with less reps for a while longer. Taking your workouts to the next level can keep you moving toward even greater fitness goals. It may also keep you from falling into a fitness rut. Make sure to check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise routine.
