Do you stop at the local coffee house on the way to work each morning for a latté topped with whipped cream? If that’s become a daily habit, be careful. You may be getting more added sugar and fat than is healthy. But you don’t have to give up your coffee to stay healthy. Order some organic coffee with a splash of low-fat or skim milk. Skip the sugar and add a dash of cinnamon, vanilla, or clove, instead. You’ll still get lots of flavor from your morning cup of Joe minus the added sugar, calories, and fat. If you want to cut back on caffeine, order a half a cup of decaf and a half a cup of regular coffee.
