Finding a more active way to get to work is a win-win for you and for the planet. Even if you leave your car at home just 1 day each week, you’ll reduce your impact on the environment. And you may boost your activity level and health in the process. If you can make it there and back safely, and in a reasonable amount of time, walk or bike to work. Take the train or bus, and walk to your office from the station. If you carpool, leave your car at home, and walk to your coworker’s house, instead.
If an active commute is not possible, find ways to get active once at work. Walk on your breaks or lunchtime. Or work out at the office gym or fitness room if your company has one. Make sure to talk with your doctor before starting any new exercise routine.
