Sitting all day can lead to weight gain. It may also lead to health problems like heart disease and high blood sugar. But you can fight back by breaking up the blocks of time you spend sitting. Take a 2-minute break each hour with a trip to the water cooler. Or visit your cubicle neighbor or walk outside for a breath of fresh air. Set an alert on your phone or computer to stand up and stretch each hour.
