Kitchen sponges can pick up all sorts of germs, like salmonella and E.coli. But rinsing it won’t kill the germs that can make you sick. But a daily trip through your dishwasher will.

While you’re at it, clean your cutting boards and utensils with bleach and water. Mix 1 to 3 tablespoons of chlorine bleach with 1 gallon of water.
