Do you ever put groceries in the fridge and come across a rotting orange? Or lift the lid on last week’s leftovers and get hit with nasty fumes? We all get busy and forget about old food items left in the fridge sometimes. But to avoid foodborne illness, toss any leftovers more than 3 to 4 days old.
Keep in mind that leftovers can smell, look, or taste OK even when they’re spoiling. So, when in doubt, toss it out.
