Your weight can change from day to day and even over the course of the day. So, weigh yourself the same way each time. Pick the same day each week to weigh yourself. Many people gain a little weight over the weekend and lose weight during the week. So, a Wednesday weigh-in might be more accurate. Choose the same time, the same scale, and wear the same amount of clothes. If the number on the scale goes up, you can take steps to get back on track. If the number stays the same or goes down, use that as motivation.
